0. Purpose

Medical Excellence JAPAN (hereinafter "MEJ") operates the Japan International Healthcare (hereinafter "JIH") recommendation website (including https://www.japaninternationalhealthcare.org/, hereinafter the "Site"). Before using the Site, please read these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). By using the Site, the user (hereinafter the "User") is deemed to have agreed to all provisions of these Terms.

1. Scope of Application

These Terms apply to all matters relating to the use of the Site. MEJ may, without prior notice, change, add to, or remove content on the Site (including information on recommended medical institutions, posted content and URLs).

2. Recommended Environment (Supported Browsers)

The Site is confirmed to operate properly in the following environments.

  • PC: Microsoft Edge (latest version) / Google Chrome (latest version) / Mozilla Firefox (latest version) / Safari (latest version)
  • Smartphones and tablets: iOS (latest version) standard browser / Android (latest version) standard browser

The Site may be viewable in other environments, but MEJ does not guarantee proper operation. To use the Site comfortably, please enable Cookies in your browser.

3. Copyright

All content posted on the Site (including but not limited to information, trademarks, logos and designs) belongs to MEJ or its legitimate right-holders and is protected under the Copyright Act and other applicable laws. None of the content may be transferred, reproduced, modified, publicly transmitted or otherwise used, in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of MEJ, except for personal use or uses expressly permitted by law.

4. Link Policy

The Site is managed and operated by MEJ.

  • Links to the Site must be pre-approved by MEJ.
  • Links to the Site must point to the top page (https://www.japaninternationalhealthcare.org/).
  • MEJ reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to request the removal of any link previously approved.
  • MEJ reserves the right to change or remove the Site's content or URLs without prior notice.

MEJ will not accept links from the following kinds of websites.

  • Websites that may damage or harm the reputation of MEJ or the recommended medical institutions.
  • Websites containing content that is contrary to public order or morality.
  • Links using frames or other techniques that do not clearly identify the content of the Site.
  • Websites that post illegal content or that may be involved in illegal activities.
  • Websites whose administrators or operators cannot be identified, that operate under online aliases, or that are managed through a proxy.

MEJ may revise this Link Policy without prior notice. When the policy is changed, MEJ may require individuals or organizations linking to the Site to comply with the revised policy.

5. Disclaimer

Although the Site is managed and operated by MEJ with reasonable care, MEJ makes no warranty as to the completeness, accuracy, usefulness or timeliness of any information posted on the Site (including information on recommended medical institutions).

MEJ shall not be liable for any damages (including indirect, special or consequential damages and lost profits) arising from the use of information posted on the Site.

Please confirm directly with each recommended medical institution any matters relating to its medical services, fees, and acceptance of patients. MEJ shall not be liable for any contracts or disputes that may arise between a recommended medical institution and a User.

MEJ shall not be liable in any case where the use of the Site becomes difficult, or where the Site is wholly or partially suspended or interrupted, due to equipment or network failures, third-party interference, natural disasters or any other cause not attributable to MEJ.

6. Cookies and Access Analytics

MEJ may use Cookies and similar technologies on the Site for the purpose of improving convenience, understanding usage, and enhancing service quality.

A Cookie is a packet of data sent by a server to, stored by, and returned unchanged to the same web client (browser) on a subsequent visit. The Cookies used on the Site do not contain personally identifying information such as name, date of birth, e-mail address, home address, or bank account details.

Users may refuse Cookies by configuring their browser settings. Doing so, however, may prevent part of the Site from being displayed or from functioning properly. Please enable Cookies in your browser so that all content is correctly displayed and operational.

The external transmission services used by the Site for access analytics, the names of the recipient providers, and the purposes of use are as follows (in compliance with the external transmission rules under the Telecommunications Business Act).

(1) Information transmitted

  • Cookie ID, IP address, browser information, device information, browsing history, language settings, etc.

(2) Recipient providers

  • Google Tag Manager (provided by Google LLC)
  • Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC)
  • Google Search Console (provided by Google LLC)
  • Microsoft Clarity (provided by Microsoft Corporation)

(3) Purposes of use

  • Analysis of usage, creation of statistical information, service improvement, optimization of advertising delivery, etc.

Users can select whether or not to allow such transmissions via the consent banner displayed when the Site is first accessed. The names of the recipient providers, the destination countries and the purposes of use are made easily accessible prior to receipt of such transmissions.

7. Handling of Personal Information

The handling of personal information obtained through the Site is governed by the separate "Privacy Policy" (https://www.japaninternationalhealthcare.org/privacy-policy/).

8. Prohibited Acts

When using the Site, Users must not engage in any of the following acts.

  • Acts that interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site.
  • Acts of impersonating MEJ, a recommended medical institution, or any third party.
  • Acts that defame or damage the reputation or credibility of MEJ, a recommended medical institution, or any third party.
  • Acts that infringe the copyrights, trademark rights, privacy or other rights of MEJ, a recommended medical institution, or any third party.
  • Acts that are, or are likely to be, contrary to public order or morality.
  • Acts that violate, or are likely to violate, applicable laws or regulations.
  • Any other acts that MEJ deems inappropriate for the operation of the Site.

If damages arise from these prohibited acts, MEJ may claim compensation for damages from the User in question.

9. Amendments to the Terms

MEJ may revise these Terms without prior notice where MEJ considers it necessary, including due to changes in laws or regulations, or changes in the services provided on the Site. The revised Terms take effect when posted on the Site, and any subsequent use of the Site is deemed to constitute agreement to the revised Terms. The content of any changes and the effective date will be posted on the Site.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall be the court of exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance for any disputes arising in connection with the use of the Site.
