Medical Excellence JAPAN (MEJ) is a general incorporated association established in 2013 as a core organization promoting the international expansion of healthcare and medical services, one of the pillars of Japan's growth strategy. Centered on the healthcare industry, it serves as a public-private platform linking the government, medical community, and academic societies. Working with government bodies including the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Cabinet Secretariat, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the Japan Tourism Agency, as well as member companies, medical institutions, and academic societies, MEJ advances information sharing, strategic planning, and project implementation in global healthcare. It also supports international patients seeking medical care in Japan through certification of Japanese medical institutions and medical travel support companies, and the strengthening of systems and environments for patient acceptance.
